How would you explain this in your own words?

“A practice that takes five minutes and happens every day outlasts a two-hour plan that happens once.”

Good ideas are easy to forget — and harder to use.

You underline a line that feels important, nod along to a podcast, and a week later it's gone. Even the ideas you remember rarely turn into something you actually do. ReadThatMatters gives each idea a second and third look, then a small, concrete way to try it.

How it works

Capture → Recall → Apply → Reflect

  1. Step 1

    Capture

Add a book, article, or YouTube podcast. Type or paste the lines that matter and add your own note.

  2. Step 2

    Recall

Short review sessions ask you to answer from memory first. Rate how it went and the next review is scheduled for you.

  3. Step 3

    Apply

Turn an idea into a small experiment: what you'll try, why it matters to you, and how you'll know it worked.

  4. Step 4

    Reflect

When you finish or drop an action, write down what happened, what helped, and what you'd change.

What works in the beta

  • Add books, articles, pasted text, and YouTube videos (with playback and timestamped highlights).
  • Save highlights manually — type them, or paste text or a transcript and select from it.
  • Notes, topics, and search across sources and highlights.
  • Recall reviews with spaced scheduling and your own questions.
  • Actions with status tracking and written outcomes.
  • A private account that saves to the cloud, plus Markdown and JSON export.

Not there yet

  • No direct Kindle, Readwise, or podcast-app sync — highlights are added by hand.
  • No automatic transcript download — paste the transcript yourself.
  • AI suggestions aren't connected yet; the app says so instead of guessing.
